I thought this painting was finished but there was just something that didn’t feel quite right, eventually I knew what it needed. So I put up a tent (exactly where it really was) in the shade of these huge gnarly sitka spruce trees, and then it felt right; inviting not intimidating. They really make a lovely spot to camp on Sombrio beach while you are hiking the Juan de Fuca trail on Vancouver Island, or (if you are like me) just a great place to spend a weekend.
