Just beyond the second bridge over the San Juan River in Port Renfrew, after you turn right towards Lake Cowichan there is a place where the road travels along the estuary that always captures my imagination. The emerald green water meanders lazily beneath the overhanging sitka spruce trees...here in this haven of green, this is what peace looks like.
