This painting was inspired by an old sitka spruce near Port Renfrew. One of my favorite things in the forest is to find a majestic old tree covered in moss and ferns leaning out over the water. And I sit there for a while imagining the world around it as it grew for hundreds of years. Watching life and the seasons come and go, and through it all, the waters always flow.
