This painting is matted and framed. 
My favorite campground on the west coast of Vancouver Island is Pacheedaht in Port Renfrew. This is the view from campsite 132, the site where I seem to stay a lot. I started this painting here at the beach en plein air style and finished it back in the studio. The quality of the light here in the summer evenings is absolutely beautiful. The outhouses might be scary (and I’m not squeamish about most outhouses) but the beach is spectacular so I don’t mind. Looking at this scene makes me feel like I can almost hear the sound of the surf. Oh the west coast is always calling me!
