I have always been partial to rain showers. I feel there is a magical quality to the quick changes of light and dark, and the dance of the clouds across the landscape. You never know when the sun will flash out for an instant turning a lake with no name into a glowing emerald pool. This tiny gem of a lake is located in Jasper National Park, and you might have seen it if you took the more difficult trail into Tonquin Valley from the Astoria trailhead. This section of trail is called the Wates Gibson Hut trail, or the Chrome Lake trail.
